About Us
Bieke’s Bistro is a family owned restaurant. It was established in 1993 by Noemi and Benicio Romero, with the original name “El Patio”. They wanted to give something back to the island of Vieques, where Benicio was born, and decided to open a restaurant that produced cheap and delicious home cooked meals. “Just like grandma use to make”, is a phrase heard often here. Always using the freshest herbs and spices directly from local backyards. By making the best rice and beans in town and making all of their guest feel welcome – El Patio made a name for itself.
After Benicio retired in the year 2003, it was with pride that Benicio’s daughter, Sonia Romero, took over the family business. The business continued to succeed by keeping the local, Latin, and seafood cuisine simple – but always fresh and delicious! With a family atmosphere and prices the whole family can afford it’s, no wonder the restaurant became one of the most well-known on the island of Vieques.
As part of an expansion, the restaurant was renamed in 2009 to Bieke’s Bistro.
Bieke’s Bistro, formerly El Patio, is committed to serving the finest foods, made with the freshest ingredients. All dishes are made from scratch. The comfortable decor and friendly staff will be sure to create a memorable experience.
We invite you to come and experience a restaurant that is a cut above the rest.
